‘Business Pointer’ prepared the report for Dynamic Dunure on the viability of the Helm centre.
There are questions about the company ‘Business Pointer’ which need to be answered before the report for Dynamic Dunure can be trusted.
- There is no trace of ‘Business Pointer’ in Companies House
- There is no company called ‘Business Pointer’ at the postal address given, 23 Stafford St. Edinburgh.
- There is no evidence of the activities of ‘Business Pointer’ for over a decade.
- The phone number given for ‘Business Pointer’ (0131 625 7042) is not in use.
This is not the background you would expect of business consultants brought in to advise on a £4.5 million pound project. Speaking of money, how much were ‘Business Pointer’ paid?
This is all highly questionable.
Specific questions which spring to mind are:
- Who put this company forward as consultants?
- Which other companies were approached to bid for the project?
- The decision to use them should have been minuted by Dynamic Dunure – can we have a copy of that minute?
- Why use a company who don’t seem to have been active in years – their last case studies date from more than 10 years ago.
- What was their brief? Is there a copy of the brief? Who put that brief together?
