Update on roadworks
The roadworks at The Croft
Should be completed by Friday 22nd May, according to the Ayrshire Roads Alliance.

Progress at The Croft, Friday 15th May I called them today (Friday 15th), and was assured that the work should be completed by next Friday.
However…
This is the first time ARA have used Stepford contractors, and they’ve had to chase them up several times.
Reading between the lines, I think that means don’t hold your breath…
I just hope for the sake of the suspension on all of our vehicles that they do complete on time.
We can’t wait for the south road to be resurfaced – at least we can thank the Community Council and South Ayrshire for the work on that being set in motion!

Lighting faults
If you want to report a lighting fault, it’s quite easy.
Log onto the Ayrshire Roads Alliance website and type the name of the street with the faulty light into the search box.
That will bring up a map with of streetlights like this:

You can zoom in to the streetlight which isn’t working and click on it:

ARA reporting pop-up Then you have the option to report the fault directly by clicking on the blue text.
Or, if you prefer, you can report a ‘batch’ of lights by email using the numbers on the pop-ups. You can contact Ayrshire Roads Alliance by phone on 01563 503160 or email enquiries@ayrshireroadsalliance.org.
ARA have gone to some lengths to make it easy to report faults: we should help them out in their efforts to provide good public service.

Questions for Dynamic Dunure

Your accounts add up to a surplus of £69,474.00 –
So why are you borrowing money from other local charities to fund a bid? Why do you need a crowdfunder?
Where has the money gone?
How can you justify spending £290,000
On ‘Community and public engagement activities’ when there has been not a single written item of feedback from your consultations so far?
South Ayrshire Councillors are on record that they want social enterprises to run like businesses –
Have you found a single Community Centre that runs on operating income only, as you propose for the Helm?
A visitor centre very like the proposed Helm was built for £4 million.
It too was based on optimistic visitor numbers. It has now failed and the land was sold on for £150,000 for housing development.
That centre was built despite concerns from the community about its business plan and what would happen if it closed.
Similar concerns are being raised now about the Helm. What is your answer to these concerns?
How do you communicate with the community?
You have a website with no meaningful content, you have no facebook page, you don’t publish notice of meetings, you don’t publish minutes, and your newsletters are so poorly written as to be incomprehensible.
Fisherton Church was highlighted for its potential at your meeting in 2022
Why did you not consider it further?
You could have bought it for the price of the ‘Community and public engagement activities’!
